Job Overview Position Title: ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) . Location: District Wide. Position Type: Academic. Those who apply will be placed on assignments at any of the three campus sites or continuing education centers, as needed. Applicants must reside within commuting distance of San Diego. The position is open for ongoing assignments and candidates will be considered for fall, spring, or summer semesters. Responsibilities Teach scheduled lecture and lab classes according to established curriculum and course outlines. Provide instruction, maintain accurate records, and be available to students outside of class. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Keep current knowledge of the subject matter. Fulfill the professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member. Create and maintain a learning environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Minimum Qualifications Degrees from regionally accredited institutions. Either: Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the assignment area OR Associate degree and at least six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the assignment area OR equivalent. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Desired Qualifications Request for Equivalency Form if degree requirements are not yet met or anticipated to be met before the start of teaching. Foreign degree holders must have coursework evaluated by a NACES- or ACEI‑member professional association; the evaluation must be submitted with the application. Relevant licenses, certificates, or credentials that enhance the ability to teach in the subject area. Conditions of Employment Submit official college transcripts. Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Examination (renewed every four years). Undergo Live Scan fingerprinting (district pays; clearance required prior to first day). Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
