A Brooklyn-based non-profit medical referral agency is looking for a curious, detail-oriented Medical Information Assistant to help build out a comprehensive medical hierarchy for their database. This is a research-focused role where you'll dig into the structure of medicine itself — how specialties like dermatology branch into subspecialties, how physicians specialize within them, and what defines each field from the ground up. Key responsibilities include:

• Research medical specialties and their underlying subspecialties and building blocks
• Understand and document how physicians specialize within each field
• Compile findings to support the creation of a structured medical hierarchy

• Assist with database maintenance to develop familiarity with how the organization's data is structured
• Contribute to the accuracy and organization of specialty-related data

• Collaborate on an evolving, project-based scope with potential to expand into broader organizational responsibilities
• Support the organization's larger goals around medical specialties and physician data
