Acerca de Community Academies of New Orleans
Community Academies of New Orleans (“CANO”) es una organización relativamente nueva de gestión de escuelas chárter creada con el objetivo de fortalecer y desarrollar un liderazgo sólido y prácticas operativas estratégicas que impulsen a CANO hacia el futuro y la conviertan en una escuela de referencia en el área metropolitana de Nueva Orleans.
La visión de CANO es construir un sistema de escuelas ejemplares, profundamente influenciado por nuestros estudiantes, familias y comunidades, con graduados comprometidos a ser defensores y líderes comunitarios. Su misión es cultivar escuelas que fomenten el carácter y la capacidad de pensamiento crítico de los estudiantes en entornos de aprendizaje receptivos, preparándolos para ser líderes comunitarios de impacto. Acerca del Puesto
La función principal del Instructor (Español) es impartir instrucción en el aula que ayude a los estudiantes a aprender. Para lograrlo, los instructores deben crear un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro y enriquecedor, preparar lecciones efectivas, evaluar el progreso estudiantil y proporcionar retroalimentación, administrar los materiales del aula, implementar el currículo de manera efectiva y colaborar en la planificación con otros miembros del personal.
Todos los instructores reportan directamente a los Directores de la Escuela. También es responsabilidad del instructor promover la misión y los valores de Community Academies of New Orleans en todas las interacciones con estudiantes y familias para garantizar nuestro compromiso con la excelencia académica y el éxito estudiantil.
Responsabilidades Esenciales
Planificar e implementar instrucción de alta calidad de acuerdo con el modelo bilingüe identificado, utilizando el idioma meta y garantizando el logro de los estándares de aprendizaje apropiados para cada grado.
Establecer y comunicar objetivos claros de contenido y lenguaje para todas las actividades de aprendizaje.
Planificar conjuntamente y coordinar la instrucción con los miembros del equipo de nivel de grado (para ambos idiomas), el personal docente y la administración.
Proporcionar evaluación continua de los estudiantes mediante reportes de calificaciones programados regularmente y conferencias con padres.
Establecer y desarrollar relaciones positivas con los estudiantes para ofrecer un ambiente de aprendizaje atractivo y emocionante en el idioma meta.
Preparar adecuadamente a los estudiantes para todas las evaluaciones requeridas.
Implementar estrategias efectivas y apropiadas de manejo del aula.
Participar en desarrollo profesional continuo, incluyendo diversas modalidades de acompañamiento y coaching; recibir y proporcionar retroalimentación constructiva; participar en reuniones de nivel de grado y reuniones centradas en los estudiantes.
Mantenerse actualizado sobre los desarrollos y requisitos del Departamento de Educación de Louisiana relacionados con la rendición de cuentas escolar, evaluaciones, currículo y mejores prácticas de educación bilingüe.
Mantener actualizados todos los registros necesarios de manera precisa y completa según lo requerido por las leyes, políticas del distrito y reglamentos escolares.
Preparar informes requeridos sobre estudiantes y actividades.
Participar en reuniones departamentales, escolares, distritales y con padres de familia.
Comunicar regularmente a estudiantes, colegas y padres información relevante sobre el progreso y las necesidades de los estudiantes.
Promover la participación familiar mediante el desarrollo de alianzas con padres y cuidadores a través de comunicación positiva continua y otras actividades que fomenten la participación activa en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes en el idioma meta.
Cumplir con las expectativas de Justicia Restaurativa para el manejo de las relaciones y conductas estudiantiles.
Requisitos del Puesto
Título universitario de licenciatura (Bachelor’s Degree).
Dominio fluido del español oral y escrito.
Capacidad demostrada para trabajar con estudiantes y familias de diversos contextos culturales y sociales.
Requisitos Físicos
Debe poder permanecer en una posición fija aproximadamente el 75% de la jornada laboral.
Debe poder caminar por todo el campus escolar para apoyar a estudiantes y personal.
Ocasionalmente deberá desplazarse dentro de la oficina y del edificio escolar para asistir a reuniones y realizar tareas asignadas.
Puede ser necesario subir escaleras periódicamente durante el día.
