Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a well-established and growing consumer products manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team in Edison, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of key accounting functions while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Summary:The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting the monthly and year-end close processes, maintaining general ledger activities, and driving continuous process improvements. This position offers a blend of financial accounting, operational accounting, and cost accounting responsibilities with opportunities for increased visibility and career growth.Responsibilities:

• Senior Accountant will lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Prepare and analyze journal entries, financial reports, and account reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital expenditures
• Support customer rebate, promotional, and accrual accounting
• Perform banking reconciliations and cash management activities
• Assist with inventory and cost accounting, including manufacturing-related analysis
• As a Senior Accountant, you will provide oversight and support for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Review accounting work prepared by team members and provide guidance as needed
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other business leaders

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience working within an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Preferred:

• CPA or CPA-track preferred
• Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience preferred
• Experience reviewing or supervising the work of other accounting professionals is a plus
• Experience with Power BI is desirable

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
