PositionSummary Wearelookingforahands-on,forward-thinkingSeniorAccountantwhothrivesinafast-paced,team-orientedenvironmentandisreadytotakeonleadershipresponsibilities. KeyResponsibilities Month-EndClose&FinancialReporting: CoordinateandexecutemonthlyandquarterlycloseactivitiesinaccordancewithGAAP—includingpreparingandpostingjournalentries,reconcilingandanalyzingbalancesheetaccounts,andproducingaccurateinternalfinancialstatementsandmanagementreports. Variance&BudgetAnalysis: Analyzeandexplainbudget-to-actualvariancesandperiod-over-periodfinancialchangesonamonthly,quarterly,andannualbasis,providingclear,actionableinsightstoleadershiptosupportbusinessdecision-making. StoreOperationsAccounting: Manageaccountingactivitiesrelatedtonewstoreopenings,relocations,andmonthlyrentandoccupancycostanalysisacrossallretaillocations,ensuringaccuracyandalignmentwithoperationaldecisions. Lease&FixedAssetManagement: OverseeleaseaccountingunderASC842,includingevaluationofnewandmodifiedcontracts,preparationofrequiredschedules,andmaintenanceofaccuratefixedassetrecords—additions,disposals,depreciation,andreconciliation. Sales&UseTaxCompliance: Prepare,file,andanalyzemulti-jurisdictionalsalesandusetaxreturnstoensurecompliancewithstateandlocalregulations;proactivelyidentifydiscrepanciesorriskareas. Audit&Compliance: Leadtheannualauditprocessbycoordinatingdirectlywithexternalauditors,preparingsupportingschedules,andensuringtimelyandaccuratesubmissionofallrequireddocumentation. System&ProcessOptimization: Identify,design,andimplementimprovementsthatincreaseefficiency,accuracy,automation,andscalabilitywithinaccountingprocesses,ERPsystems,andreportingtools. StrategicSupport: PartnerwiththeAccountingManagerandVPofFinanceonbudgeting,forecasting,andadhocfinancialanalysesthatdrivestrategicinitiatives,operationalperformance,andcompanygrowth. ScheduleExpectations Full-timePosition-Minimumof40hoursperweek HybridSchedule:Mon/Tues/Thursinofficerequired Education&ExperienceRequirements Education: Bachelor'sdegreeinaccountingorfinancerequired;strongfoundationalaccountingknowledgeisessentialforsuccessinthisrole. CPAcredentialoractiveprogresstowardCPApreferred,reflectingthetechnicaldepthrequiredforGAAPcompliance,leaseaccounting,auditleadership,andfuturemanagerialresponsibilities. RequiredExperience: 4-7yearsofprogressiveaccountingexperience,ideallywithinaretail,multi-entity,orhigh-volumeoperatingenvironment. Demonstratedexpertiseinmonth-endclose,financialstatementpreparation,accountreconciliations,andvarianceanalysis. StrongworkingknowledgeofGAAP,includinghands-onexperiencewithleaseaccountingunderASC842andfixedassetaccounting. ExperienceutilizingandnavigatingmultipleERPsystems,withtheabilitytotroubleshootissues,streamlineworkflows,andsupportsystemenhancements. AdvancedproficiencyintheMicrosoftOfficeSuite,particularlyExcel(pivottables,complexformulas,datamodeling)tosupportanalysisandreportingrequirements. Provenexperiencesupportingorleadingauditpreparation,includingdevelopingschedules,reconcilingsupportingdocumentation,andinteractingwithexternalauditors. Demonstratedabilitytomentorortrainteammembers,reflectingreadinessforasuccessiontrackintoAccountingManager. PreferredExperience&TechnicalSkills: ExperiencewithPowerBI,PowerQuery,PowerPivot,ordatawarehousereportingtoolstosupportautomation,dashboarding,andenhancedanalytics. Backgroundinsalesanduseoftaxcomplianceormulti-jurisdictionaltaxfilings. Exposuretonewstoreaccounting,leasereview,andoperationalaccountinginamulti-locationretailmodel. Experiencedrivingprocessimprovementsthatincreaseaccuracy,automation,orefficiencywithinaccountingoperations.
