The Enterprise Application Services (EAS) group plays a key part in the creation and deployment of technology used across the state by ODOT staff and the public. Engineering & Transportation Services team within EAS supports much of the Delivery and Operations Division (DOD) within ODOT. • Troubleshoot reported system issues, identify the root cause, and propose a solution to resolve the issues.
• Document, design, coding, testing, and installation of Client Server/Web applications.
• Meet with customers to understand their needs and develop system modifications.
• Escalate showstopper issues, define, and vet potential options with management to resolve issues.
• Time management skills and be able to effectively balance delivery of on-going operational services with the accomplishment of work that supports attainment of long term goals.
• Proficient in communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to effectively listen, answer questions, and exchange information with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Gathers information process, application and needs to inform decision making process.
• Provide estimates to complete assigned tasks and communicate progress.
• Meet with customers to understand their needs and develop system modifications that meet the requirements.
• Heads up project, services and work items in a leadership role.

• Six (6) years of information systems experience doing analysis on IT projects at the expert level for multiple large-sized projects or systems. OR
• An associate's degree in computer science, information technology or related field or completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND four (4) years of information systems experience doing analysis on IT projects at the expert level for multiple large-sized projects or systems. OR
• A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience doing analysis on IT projects at the expert level for multiple large-sized projects or systems. OR
• A master's degree in information technology, computer science or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Information Systems Specialist 6 Minimum Qualifications (Underfill Option):

• Five (5) years information systems experience doing analysis on IT projects at the expert level for multiple large-sized projects or systems. OR
• An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience doing analysis on IT projects at the expert level for multiple large-sized projects or systems. OR
• A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience doing analysis on IT projects at the expert level for multiple large-sized projects or systems.

• Demonstrated experience in providing consulting assistance to system users using analytical and problem-solving skills. Prefer experience in a Business Systems Analyst or Systems Analyst role.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of web-based and client server technologies development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated analytic skills in efficiently troubleshooting reported system issues, identifying the root cause, and defining a solution to resolve the issue.
• Demonstrated work experience in creating Information Systems (IS) documentation, specifically: proposals (outline feasibility and cost of different options), business requirements, design specifications, testing and implementation documents, and other related IS files.
• Demonstrate experience in developing and leading an analyst team during a project or within an organization.
