Key Responsibilities\n

• Respond collaboratively with law enforcement officials during mental health episodes, providing on-site crisis intervention and evaluation.

• Educate police staff on mental health awareness and effective de-escalation tactics to minimize conflict and improve outcomes in instances involving individuals experiencing mental distress.

• Perform assessments and craft personalized action plans for clients, including recommending necessary steps for involuntary detention under California laws (5150/5585) when situations warrant.

• Coordinate transportation arrangements to mental health facilities or shelters as necessary, ensuring individuals receive timely and appropriate care.

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records while adhering to HIPAA regulations, ensuring the confidentiality and security of all patient information.

• Engage with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health professionals and community service providers, to provide case management and follow-up support for patients post-intervention.

• Facilitate short-term crisis counseling for patients during acute episodes while guiding them towards recovery resources.

Qualifications\n

• Must hold a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in California.
