Benefits & Leave Manager

Location: Hybrid, Northern California
Compensation: $110,000-$115,000

LHH is assisting a growing multi-site California organization is seeking an experienced Benefits & Leave Manager to oversee employee benefits, leave administration, accommodations, and workers' compensation programs. This leadership role is ideal for an HR professional with strong compliance expertise, experience managing complex employee cases, and a passion for delivering an exceptional employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead administration of health, welfare, retirement, wellness, and leave programs.
• Manage leave of absence processes including FMLA, CFRA, disability, parental leave, accommodations, and workers' compensation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Partner with vendors, brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.
• Oversee open enrollment planning, employee education, and benefits communications.
• Analyze program utilization, costs, and trends to recommend improvements.
• Lead compliance audits, reporting, and documentation efforts.
• Supervise and develop HR team members responsible for benefits and leave administration.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of benefits and leave administration experience.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of California employment laws, including CFRA, FMLA, FEHA/ADA, PWFA, ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.
• Experience with self-insured health plans strongly preferred.
• Background supporting large, multi-site workforces.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
