Accounts Payable Assistant

Job Description Job Description We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to support our growing accounting department. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, excellent accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will assist with invoice processing, vendor communications, reimbursements, and general accounting support while working closely with multiple departments. What You’ll Do Process vendor invoices and credit card charges with accurate GL coding and departmental allocations Review invoices for proper documentation and approvals prior to payment Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts and investigate discrepancies Assist with weekly check printing and mailing Track vendor credits and apply returns appropriately Review and reconcile vendor statements Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues Process employee reimbursement requests Maintain vendor records, W-9 forms, and assist with year-end 1099 preparation Handle incoming accounting-related calls Maintain vehicle registrations, gas cards, and related records Support additional accounting functions and collaborate with other departments as needed What We’re Looking For 1–2 years of accounts payable or accounting support experience Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines Quick learner with strong organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Team player with a positive and professional attitude Company Description Express Employment Professionals is one of the top staffing companies in the U.S. and Canada.
