ABOUT THE POSITION

The position reports to the Associate Director, Human Resources, NASS Program working with other NASDA team members in the NASS Program. This role will plan and manage information technology projects and will serve as a liaison on assigned projects with the NASS program team and vendors. The NASS program employs 2,000 enumerators in 49 states who use either iPads or MacBooks to collect data. While a local Trainer is the front line representative for most issues, this role will work to ensure that equipment and technology works well.

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to:

• Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates.
• Maintains inventory of equipment, purchasing new equipment as needed
• Ships and receives equipment, as needed.
• Identifies, investigates, and resolves problems with Trainers related to computer software and hardware. Updates related documentation for users.
• Tracks and evaluates technology systems evaluating for increased efficiency and support of data collection efforts
• Works with technology vendors to ensure issues are resolved efficiently
• Collaborates with the NASDA communications team to complete timely and accurate updates to NASDA's NASS webpages.
• Manages process for creating and archiving Microsoft licenses
• Assist in implementing and managing new cloud-based platforms for shipping and financial operations.
• Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
• Provide feedback to Associate Director for increased efficiency with systems used in the NASS program
• Perform other duties covered by NASDA-NASS Cooperative Agreement

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant, full-time work experience
• 3+ years of experience in technology project management including working with users in a remote environment,
• 3+ years managing operations or projects with demonstrated expertise in agriculture, data collection or related government programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar applications), Apple equipment and remote work technology (Zoom, Teams).
• Experience working with device management systems such as Jamf Pro
• Experience updating and maintaining websites using a content management system (CMS), such as WordPress or similar, is preferred. Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical users
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented work environment.
• Ability to travel nationally several times per year.
• Able to pass a federal background check.

SALARY RANGE

Coordinator - $55,000 - $65,000

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time (40 hrs/week), exempt position based in the Washington, DC metro area. This position will be remote 3 days per week and in office 2 days per week in our Ballston, VA office. Working hours are generally Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
