About the Position To plan, develop and teach graduate MSN and FNP classes online, in the clinical setting, and in the campus skills lab. Carry out other duties associated with lecturer responsibilities, including maintaining accurate student records, coordinating clinical instruction, coordinating student experiences with clinical personnel, communicating with clinical agencies, participating in curriculum development, CCNE and BRN accreditation activities, and maintaining current subject matter expertise. Responsibilities include teaching and office hours; assignment may include day, evening, and weekend classes/clinical labs. Minimum Degree Requirements A master’s degree in nursing or higher from an accredited college or university which includes courses in nursing education. Required Qualifications Leadership in teaching graduate level nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) content area, including student learning outcomes evaluation. Current active California RN license. Current active California FNP license or national FNP certification. At least one year of experience teaching courses related to FNP nursing or a course that includes practice in teaching nursing. At least two years continuous full‑time experience in direct patient care practice as an FNP within the last three years or eligibility for Board of Registered Nurses approval to teach FNP nursing. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students. Preferred Qualifications Excellent communication and collaborative skills. Flexibility in teaching assignments. Experience with using multiple teaching modalities for a diverse learner population. Willingness to teach on weekends and evenings. Responsibilities Plan, develop and teach graduate MSN and FNP classes online, in the clinical setting, and in the campus skills lab. Maintain accurate student records/clinical grades. Coordinate clinical instruction with other faculty. Coordinate student experiences with clinical personnel. Maintain communications between the University and clinical agencies. Participate in curriculum development, CCNE and BRN accreditation activities, program review and evaluation, curriculum development and revision. Remain current in subject matter and techniques of effective instruction through recent clinical experience and professional development. Teach and hold office hours.
