Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team and provide exceptional support in the medication management process. This role involves performing various tasks related to the dispensing of drugs under the supervision of a pharmacist, ensuring consistent and high-quality care for patients.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists by handling packaging, manipulative, and repetitive tasks required for the efficient furnishing of medications. The role also includes filling and delivering unit dose cassettes to nursing units based on patient profiles.

Job Requirements

• Education and Experience:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • State Pharmacy Technician license: Required in state of practice
  • Pharmaceutical Technician Board certification: Preferred

Essential Functions

• Accurately pull medications from stock and match them with corresponding labels generated by the pharmacist.
• Maintain nursing and medication areas by restocking, removing expired medications, and ensuring proper stock rotation.
• Receive and price incoming deliveries and appropriately stock medications.
• Prepare IV medication products in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Check in orders from wholesalers and suppliers, managing distribution and filing paperwork efficiently.
• Process returns and back orders in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
