2026/27 SY – SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL – JobID: 863 Location: District Wide Date Posted: 6/5/2026 Shift: 6.5 hours per day Start Date: August 13, 2026 Assignment: Inclusion setting / Self-Contained / Speech Support Qualifications Educational and Assessment Requirements High School diploma or recognized equivalent and two years of study at a higher education institution (72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher) Associate's Degree (or higher) Score of 455 or above on the ETS Para Assessment Completion of an apprenticeship as a para educator in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council Required Skills Willingness to assist students with personal hygiene and daily living skills Ability to pass the Special Education Paraprofessional Physical Capacity Exam Must possess effective student supervision and management skills Effective speaking, reading, writing, spelling, and math skills Experience working with special/high needs students (preferred) Ability to lift and assist in lifting students weighing up to approximately 100 pounds when necessary Ability to work effectively in a positive manner with staff and students from diverse cultural, economic, and social backgrounds Willingness to participate in training activities as required by OSPi for the Fundamental Course of Study (5 standards of practice for paraprofessionals/paraeducators) provided by the Toppenish School District Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $20.28–$26.79 per hour (depending on Education & Experience) Benefits: SEBB (Medical, Dental, Vision), DRS, Paid Time Off, Sick Leave, FMLA & PFMLA #J-18808-Ljbffr Toppenish School District
