About the role Balfour Beatty has a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join our high-performing Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team, leading delivery on Major Projects in the Rochester area This is a unique chance to be part of a critical infrastructure project supporting the UK’s energy transition — all while working within a collaborative and expert team, where flexible working is embraced and career development is a priority In return we offer you: £Competitive - DOE + excellent benefits including Site Allowances, Company Car and Subsistance Allowances (Subject to T&C’s of role) Hours - 45 per week What you'll be doing Hold periodic project reviews and update the Digital Briefcase Ensure the team maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.) Prepare and present both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders Aptitude and ability to understand technical answers / explanations Management of teams to ensure works are deliverable Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation Accountable for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain Carry out Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety initiatives Lead Accident/Incident Investigations Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions Review RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMS Develop H&S plan and ensure it is treated as a live document Ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce Produce plans for the team to achieve goals/aspirations Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management. Who we're looking for Experience of working on a variety of project types Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery In depth understanding and practical experience of standard forms of contracts Proficient in commercial/project management communications Experience in implementing safe systems of work Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation Communicate new concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams.
