Location: Houston, TexasReports to: Houston Maintenance SupervisorCollaborates with: Production, Accounting, Sales, Shipping, VendorsPrimary Responsibility: The Industrial Plant Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in all areas of the industrial facility, including production floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and exterior grounds. This role ensures that cleaning standards comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, helping to support overall plant operations and employee well-being. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of production areas and common areas.Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors; clean and disinfect surfaces.Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed.Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and pressure washers.Monitor cleaning supply inventory and report needs to supervisor.Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.Respond to cleaning and maintenance requests promptly and professionally.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Support plant operations by maintaining cleanliness in compliance with OSHA and company standards.  Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Prior janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience in an industrial or commercial setting.Ability to work independently and follow verbal or written instructions.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.Familiarity with basic cleaning equipment and chemical handling procedures.Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial plant environments.Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards. Physical Demands/Abilities:Ability to lift 60 pounds.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work at heights.Comfortable working in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to industrial equipment.Availability to work occasional overtime, nights, or weekends as needed. Working Conditions:Manufacturing production environment.Automated/manual production machinery.Periods of high ambient temperatures and excessive noise. Education Requirements:High school diploma or GED required. Cultural Values and Requirements:Safety awareness - must understand and demonstrate the behavior that safety of yourself and other coworkers is essential, and must adhere to all safety policies and procedures.Dependability - regularly arrives to work on time, returns timely from breaks, meets attendance guidelines, and consistently arrives on time and prepared for team meetings.Teamwork - ability to effectively work within a team environment to ensure timeliness of job completion, exhibiting a friendly and positive demeanor toward co-workers; ability to work cooperatively with machine operators to achieve quality products and maintain production throughput on equipment.Communication - ability to communicate clearly and concisely with operators, plant manager, engineers, and service contractors, using both the spoken and written word, as well as the ability to actively listen and comprehend communication from others.Ethical - ability to demonstrate, conduct, and conform to a set of values and accepted standards, such as honesty, integrity, reliability, and accountability.Detail oriented - ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task and perform work accurately and thoroughly. Benefits:Annual Bonus Program$350 Annual Wellness CreditFlexible Spending Account (FSA)401k with match up to 5%Life insuranceDisability insurance5 days of paid sick leave annually15 days PTO annually (prorated based on start date)Equal Opportunity: MIRATECH is an equal opportunity employer and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce.
