Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in healthcare settings by ensuring the sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment. Reporting to the SPD Supervisor, this professional works within a medium-sized team and supports infection prevent ion efforts through meticulous instrument handling, quality control, and adherence to safety procedures. The role involves daily shifts with no travel requirements, emphasizing reliability and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Hours: (08:00 - 16:30) -  This is a day position from 8 to 4:30 pm during the weekdays and from 6 to 2:30 pm every 3rd weekend;

Responsibilities

• Sterilize medical instruments and equipment following established protocols
• Manage and maintain inventory of sterile supplies
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sterilization equipment
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Implement infection prevention measures consistently
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of sterilization processes
• Collaborate effectively within a medium-sized sterile processing team
• Prepare supplies and ensure readiness for surgical and medical procedures
• Follow safety procedures to protect team and patients

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in sterile processing
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification from CBSPD or equivalent credential
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control
• Expertise in instrument handling and medical equipment maintenance
• Familiarity with quality assurance practices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
• Excellent teamwork and time management skills
