Executive Chef Requirements & Qualifications

• Extensive progressive culinary leadership experience within high-volume restaurant operations
• Current or previous Executive Chef-level leadership strongly preferred
• Proven experience leading high-volume, full-service restaurant culinary operations
• Strong P&L knowledge with demonstrated ability to manage food cost, labor, purchasing, and profitability
• Proven ability to recruit, train, coach, develop, and retain high-performing culinary teams
• Strong understanding of kitchen scheduling, forecasting, inventory, and operational controls
• Ability to maintain consistent recipe execution, food quality, presentation, and speed of service
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and local health regulations
• Required food management and safety certifications
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business demands

Executive Chef Preferred Background & Skills

• Current Hawaii culinary leadership experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of the Honolulu/Waikiki hospitality and culinary market
• High-volume polished casual, upscale casual, resort, or entertainment restaurant experience
• Experience with banquet, catering, private dining, and large-scale events
• Proven success managing and developing diverse culinary teams
• Strong track record of building kitchen culture and developing future leaders
• Creative culinary mindset balanced with disciplined recipe and brand execution
• Experience managing complex, high-volume operations in destination or tourism-driven markets
• Strong career stability and progressive leadership responsibility
