Position Overview The Senior Accountant is responsible for month-end general ledger closing and financial statement preparation for multiple client partners. In addition, the Senior Accountant will assist in onboarding our growing list of accounting services clients. Responsibilities Perform monthly and annual journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of information and compliance with GAAP.Coordinate the monthly and annual closing of the financial statements to ensure timely and accurate accounting for Upic and Upic Accounting Services clients.Prepare 1099 for Upic and Upic Accounting Services Clients.Assist in the onboarding of and meet on a regular basis with Upic Accounting Services clients.Prepare analysis and provide explanations for unusual and/or inconsistent trends.Evaluate workflows for accuracy, efficiency, and appropriateness.Identify and assist with the implementation of areas of improvement, efficiency and automation that could benefit the finance department and Upic Accounting Services clients.Work closely with other departments on matters that affect Upic Accounting Services clients.Provide leadership of Accounting Specialists by supporting growth and development.Works on special projects, process improvements, system implementations and the like, as directed.Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDegree in Finance/Accounting or a related field, and 3-5 years of accounting related experienceAbility to utilize accounting softwareIntermediate to advanced skills in Excel Ability to accurately apply Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)Effective communication and ability to work collaborativelyExperience in creating and booking journal entriesSelf-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervisionDetail-oriented and highly organized work styleAbility to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities to ensure completion of work in a timely and efficient mannerAbility to utilize sound judgment when working with secure information and maintain a high level of confidentialityAbility to create and update procedures relating to client onboard and best accounting practicesAbility to train others (including our clients) on various accounting processes and procedures not limited to reconciliations, entering journal entries Excellent interpersonal skills.Passion for Upic's mission.
