Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant in our corporate office in Chicago, IL. Are you someone who will take ownership for ensuring things are handled right? Responsibilities Compile transactions & journal entries in a timely and accurate manner. Reconcile, adjust & maintain balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accrued expenses, accounts payable, fixed assets, etc. Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual financial reports to Senior Management, analyzing general ledger accounts, producing supporting schedules, correcting errors and providing guidance on incorrect entries. Complete monthly bank account reconciliations. Perform cost analyses & tracking. Perform various aspects of month‑end close process, including reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts; preparation and analysis of inter‑company accounts; analyze and book fixed‑asset transactions including depreciation, purchases, proceeds from sales, and gain or loss on disposal; analyze cash balances required to pay inter‑company transactions and refund inter‑company loans. Process & monitor various inter‑company transactions: reconcile millions of dollars’ worth of monthly inter‑company transactions ranging from payroll transfers, sale of materials, rentals, bulk fuel invoices, bulk IT invoices, bulk Office Max invoices, etc.; accrue proper entries for reimbursement; initiate repayment. Research, analyze & report financial information in a clear and concise manner. Participate in the year‑end audit with external auditors. Assist in various banking needs such as initiating wires, analyzing and accruing bank fees and interest payments, analyzing accounts to prevent overdraft, and ensuring payroll accounts are funded properly on a weekly basis. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Position is 100% in the office. Salary Range: $63,000 - $94,000 a year based on experience.
