PfES Technical Specialist

Providing oversight and advisory support for the development of a national Payment for Forest Ecosystem Services (PfES) program, the part-time PfES Technical Specialist will conduct reviews, facilitate knowledge exchanges, and propose frameworks for benefit sharing and fund distribution, all while working remotely for a duration of 60 days. Key responsibilities Conduct reviews of existing benefit sharing models and provide recommendations for the PfES structure Facilitate knowledge exchanges between Lao PDR and Vietnam regarding fund structures and reporting requirements Propose a framework for piloting the PfES program in Lao PDR based on lessons learned from Vietnam Required qualifications Advanced university degree in natural resource management, climate finance, or a related discipline; a bachelor's degree requires two additional years of relevant experience At least 5 years of relevant experience in forestry, natural resources, or PES design and sustainable financing Working knowledge of English at level C Experience advising governments and development agencies in forestry and climate finance Familiarity with PES schemes, biodiversity offsets, or REDD+ finance
