Experienced Critical Care Nurse Opportunity

Our 19-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at East Jefferson General Hospital, part of LCMC Health, is a high-acuity unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for our most complex patients. What Makes Our Med/Surg ICU Unique?

• High Acuity & Diverse Patient Population: You'll manage a wide range of critical conditions, including:
  • Medical ICU Patients: Septic shock, respiratory failure, renal failure requiring CRRT, patients on multiple pressors, DKA, GI bleeds, ARDS, advanced heart failure, and cardiogenic shock.
  • Non-CVT Surgical Patients: Post-operative care for abdominal surgeries, ENT, vascular, ortho spine, and other complex surgical cases.
  • Specialized Programs: We care for patients undergoing rare cancer procedures, such as Neuro Endocrine Tumor (NET) surgeries.
  • Broad Exposure: As an overflow unit for Neuro, Neurosurgery, and Cardiovascular/Thoracic (CVT) patients, you'll gain invaluable experience across various specialties.
• Optimal Staffing Ratios: We prioritize patient safety and nurse well-being with routine nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2. For our highest acuity patients, ratios are 1:1, ensuring you have the time and resources needed for comprehensive care.

We're Looking for Nurses Who Are:

• Team Players: Collaborative and supportive, thriving in a multidisciplinary environment.

Positive & Resilient: Maintaining a positive attitude and working effectively under pressure.

Minimum:

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS (Must obtain within 6 months of hire)

Preferred:

• Experienced ICU Nurses: We highly value candidates with two years of experience in a high-acuity surgical ICU setting, particularly CVICU. Your expertise will be a tremendous asset to our team.
