Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an inpatient Intermediate Care Unit registered nurse in Wausau, Wisconsin. The position involves providing care in a 36-bed med/surg intermediate care unit with a focus on heavy telemetry, ventilator and trach management, sepsis, trauma alcohol detoxification, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke. The role requires the ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including every other weekend and holiday rotations. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 4:1 in a fast-paced, stable, and change-resilient environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
• Schedule: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC), at least 2 years of experience with Stepdown/Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit settings, ICU experience preferred, Trauma Level II experience preferred, ventilator and trach experience required, at least 1 prior travel assignment, and charting experience with EPIC preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Float: AWH all inpatient units as needed; typically float to higher acuity units.
• Additional Information: The unit has 36 beds in a Med Surg Intermediate Care setting with heavy telemetry. Candidate should be a hard worker, resilient, adaptable to change, able to work independently, and complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Scrub colors are flexible.
