Senior Staff Accountant

StevenDouglas is partnering with a well-established company in Bergen County, NJ serving the events industry and is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join its growing finance team. This role offers broad exposure across accounting functions, including reconciliations, lender reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to grow into a key departmental resource. Job Responsibilities Support daily accounting operations by cross-training across accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions to provide coverage during staff absences and across multiple office time zones Prepare bank and account reconciliations, along with supporting schedules, for month-end close Compile periodic sales, receivables, payables, and inventory reports for asset-based lending compliance, including related ineligible calculations Coordinate documentation and support for external financial reviews and lender field examinations Develop and help implement accounting policies and procedures to strengthen GAAP compliance, streamline month-end close, and improve internal controls Prepare monthly sales tax reports and sales commission calculations for management review, and assist with the annual budgeting process Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent senior-level accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, wholesale distribution, or rental-based business Proficiency in enterprise accounting software and strong Excel skills, with willingness to learn industry-specific systems Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and support senior leadership Exposure to cost accounting, construction accounting, or prevailing wage projects is a plus, though not required #J-18808-Ljbffr
