Role:

Recording transactions in the appropriate company account ledgers using spreadsheets or accounting software including but not limited to ABC Financial, Paychex, QuickBooks.

Preparing and filing basic financial documents, such as income statements, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and year end trial balances for the LLC to C Corp.

Work with AP staff assisting in reconciliation and filing.

Organizing receipts, invoices and physical copies of financial documents.

Works with local, state, and federal agencies managing discretionary and tangible property tax.

Works with Guidant Financial on filing form 5500 for 401k programs.

Maintaining compliance with financial reporting regulations, such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Completing research and aiding the CPA as needed

Leads projects including working with insurance companies for annual policy processing and reviews.

Works closely with the onboarding specialist and assist with approving payroll and preparing documents in Docusign.

Audits and reconciliation of the bank debits to payroll ledgers to ensure accuracy and maintains checks & balances across the organization.

Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting methods, including double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting and cash accounting.

Strong math skills to calculate debits and credits to accounts and complete account reconciliations.

Experience entering transactions into accounting software programs, such as QuickBooks, ABC Financial, Chase.

Ability to use spreadsheets and accounting software to produce key financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, accounts payable (AP) statements and accounts receivable (AR) statements.

Understanding of basic tax liabilities, including payroll and sales tax

Familiarity with laws and regulations related to the preparation of financial statements.

Experience with HR, DOL, and regulations concerning employee matters.

Experience in AI tools (Claude) and the ability to leverage these tools to assist with core Responsibilities.

Attention to detail with the highest level of analytical skills to identify errors or discrepancies.

Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with accounting team members.

Local and Remote:

Most of the time will be working from your home office. At times, travel within the Ft Myers and Naples area may be required.

Full or Part Time:

This is not a full-time role. During seasons hours will vary.

Compensation:

We are searching for a "Standard Freelance Independent Bookkeeper" which offers a pay range of $25-$60 per hour based on experience, role performed, and time served.

If you do not possess the Standard skills, the " Basic Data Entry " range is $15-$25 per hour.

Promotion:

The expectation for this role would be to advance into a leadership position which would include managing the HR and AR/AP departments. This would present the opportunity to earn the upper payrate.
