Immediate opening for an IT Help Desk Technician (Holiday Project) in Fontana, CA who possesses:
* 2+ years of IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, Technical Support, or related experience
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to support non-technical users
* Experience troubleshooting PCs, Macs, mobile devices, printers, and related desktop technology
* Experience with VoIP, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar communication platforms
* Experience working within a Help Desk ticketing system
* Retail or Point of Sale support experience preferred
FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking experienced IT Help Desk Technicians for a temporary holiday support project in Fontana, CA running from November 19, 2026 through December 20, 2026. This role will provide onsite and remote technical support for corporate, distribution center, and retail users, including troubleshooting and supporting desktops, printers, mobile devices, network connectivity, telecommunications, and related technology. The ideal candidate will be technically strong, customer-focused, comfortable supporting non-technical users, and available to work one of the designated holiday project schedules, including overnight, evening, and weekend hours.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
* Providing onsite and remote Help Desk and technical support
* Performing in-person and remote troubleshooting for end users
* Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining desktop hardware systems
* Supporting attached peripheral devices and related workstation equipment
* Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting office printers and copiers
* Supporting approved mobile devices
* Supporting VoIP systems and handsets
* Troubleshooting Microsoft Teams, Zoom, video conferencing, and related communication systems
* Supporting wireless connectivity
* Troubleshooting VPN connectivity
* Assisting with local data circuit and telecommunications connectivity issues
* Determining appropriate technical solutions based on reported issues and available information
* Guiding remote employees through troubleshooting and problem-solving steps by phone or other remote-support methods
* Providing technical support for distribution center workstations, printers, copiers, and wireless devices
* Supporting retail technology and Point of Sale systems as applicable
* Deploying approved system changes to stores and corporate devices
* Using approved IT tools for troubleshooting, configuration, deployment, and monitoring
* Escalating unresolved technical issues to the appropriate next level of support
* Logging calls, incidents, outages, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions within the Help Desk ticketing system
* Working to resolve incidents within established service-level expectations
* Collaborating with Networking and other technical teams to ensure system connectivity and compatibility
* Documenting technical procedures and troubleshooting steps
* Creating and maintaining user-friendly FAQs and technical documentation
* Documenting system issues, root causes, and resolutions for future reference
* Supporting applicable NOC notifications and technical incident documentation
* Maintaining confidentiality of information being processed, stored, or accessed through company systems
* Assisting new employees with technology, workstation, and office-system setup
* Providing professional, patient, and customer-focused technical support throughout the project
* Performing other Help Desk and IT support duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
* 2+ years of IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, Technical Support, or related professional experience required
* 3 years of hands-on PC, Mac, and iOS experience preferred
* 1+ year of Help Desk ticketing system experience required
* Retail technology or Point of Sale support experience preferred
* Active Directory experience preferred
* Microsoft Outlook profile troubleshooting experience preferred
* Mobile Device Management experience preferred
* Imaging and deployment experience preferred
* WDS and MDT experience preferred
* VoIP experience preferred
* Microsoft Teams or Zoom support experience preferred
* Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, and related technology required
* Experience troubleshooting wireless and VPN connectivity preferred
* Associate degree in a technical discipline or applicable technical certification preferred, but not required
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required
* Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users required
* Ability to write clear, user-friendly technical instructions
* Strong customer service skills required
* Ability to remain calm and professional while supporting frustrated users
* Strong time-management and organizational skills required
* Ability to work effectively as part of a technical support team
* Ability to work onsite in Fontana, CA
* Ability to support a temporary holiday project from November 19, 2026 through December 20, 2026
* Ability to work the complete assigned shift, including overnight, evening, and/or weekend hours as scheduled
Available Holiday Project Shifts:
Shift 1: Sunday through Thursday, 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Friday and Saturday off
Shift 2: Monday and Tuesday, 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM
Wednesday and Thursday off
Friday and Saturday, 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Shift 3: Wednesday through Sunday, 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM
Monday and Tuesday off
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while troubleshooting systems, documenting tickets, and providing remote support
* Ability to use hands and fingers for keyboard use, hardware configuration, device setup, cabling, and standard technical-support tasks
* Ability to visually review computer screens, system information, technical documentation, and equipment for extended periods
* Ability to communicate by phone, email, remote-support tools, and in person throughout the workday
* Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, crouch, and move throughout office, distribution center, or support environments as needed
* Ability to access workstations, printers, telecommunications equipment, and other technology located throughout the facility
* Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard computer equipment, monitors, printers, peripherals, and related IT hardware as needed
* Ability to work overnight, evening, weekend, and holiday-project schedules as assigned
* Ability to maintain focus, professionalism, and attention to detail while responding to multiple technical-support requests
Salary Range: $25 to $32/hour
