Job Description:
The Customer Account Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts and is responsible for overseeing the order fulfillment process from receipt through delivery. This role works closely with internal departments to ensure customer expectations are met while maintaining accurate account information and supporting business growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and oversee daily order activity.
- Process customer orders, monitor fulfillment progress, and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with operations, logistics, inventory planning, and finance teams to resolve order-related issues.
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status, product availability, and shipment updates.
- Assist with returns, credits, warranty requests, and other account-related inquiries.
- Support sales initiatives by maintaining customer records, pricing information, and product data.
- Analyze purchasing patterns and inventory trends to identify potential opportunities or risks.
- Generate reports related to account performance, order activity, and operational metrics.
- Maintain accurate customer information across multiple business systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in account management, customer service, sales support, order management, or a related B2B environment.
- Experience managing multiple customer accounts and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, order management software, or customer relationship management tools.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Additional Details:
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP platforms is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EDI transactions and customer ordering portals is a plus.
- Background supporting manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or inventory-based operations preferred.
