Sets-up and operates arc and mig welding equipment to weld frames to part print specifications to meet plant quality and production standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Reads production order and part print to determine dimensions and retrieve fixtures, 

equipment, and parts. 

2. Welds approximately 60 different frame assemblies with some 275 variations. 

3. Inspects parts for deficient welds and compensates for material irregularities. 

4. Keeps production orders. 

OTHER DUTIES:

1. Grinds down deficient welds and rewelds correctly. 

2. Measures completed frames for accuracy and conformance to specifications using 

scales and square. 

3. Performs preventive maintenance on weld equipment. 

4. Maintains cleanliness of work area and follows safe work practice rules. 

5. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Three months commercial, vocational, or other specialized training beyond high 

school. 

Experience: One year related work experience. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Manual Dexterity: Work requires skilled, accurate, rapid, and some closely coordinated 

manual or other physical actions. 

Physical Effort: Work requires mostly moderate but some heavy muscular effort or 

difficult work positions. 

Working Conditions: Limited exposure to one or two extremely disagreeable features. 

Hazards: Exposure to hazards that may result in short term work-related absences.
