Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned telemetry patients including those with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med-surg overflow.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans.
• Manage and monitor cardiac drips as required by unit needs.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect to appropriate resources.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty.
• Ability to float to other units when needed.
• Availability to work every other weekend.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Prior experience caring for cardiac patients including those requiring drip management.
• Familiarity with med-surg overflow patient populations.
