The Med Tech ensures timely distribution of medication to all residents by providing assistance with self-medication as prescribed by healthcare provider. Responsibilities include providing care and assistance with the functions of daily living, maintaining residents' health records/resident charts by timely documenting any changes in health, incidents, and observation of unusual occurrences, maintaining medication observation records, assisting with self-administration of medication, responding quickly to emergencies, coordinating physician/hospital visits, maintaining confidentiality, and communicating effectively with all staff, residents, and their families.

Job requirements include a 4 hour certification for self-administration of medication and current CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Prior work experience in geriatric, nursing, assisted living, or similar environment is preferred. The candidate should also be able to be on his/her feet for prolonged periods, be self-motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to pass pre-employment drug and background screening (level 2).
