Senior Electrical Engineer – Commercial Building Design (MEP)

Location: St. Louis, MO (Hybrid)

Are you an Electrical Engineer with experience designing power, lighting, and life safety systems for commercial buildings?

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a well-established consulting engineering firm supporting healthcare, commercial, institutional, municipal, industrial, and other complex building projects. This role is focused on commercial building electrical design within an MEP consulting environment and offers the opportunity to lead projects from concept through construction.

Important:
This is not a controls, automation, manufacturing, PLC, SCADA, utility transmission, or substation engineering role. Candidates should have experience designing electrical systems for commercial buildings within an MEP, A/E, or consulting engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for commercial building projects
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life safety systems
• Prepare load calculations, panel schedules, one-line diagrams, and construction documents
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and clients
• Support project planning, design reviews, and construction administration
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable building codes
• Mentor junior engineers and designers as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of commercial building electrical design experience
• Experience within an MEP consulting, A/E, or consulting engineering environment
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and building electrical systems
• AutoCAD experience required
• Revit experience preferred
• PE license preferred
