Vice President of Sales

Compensation: $145,000-$155,000 Base Salary + 40% Annual Bonus Relocation Assistance: Available About the Opportunity Our client is a leading national organization in the foodservice distribution industry with an established presence across the United States. They are seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales to lead sales strategy, customer growth, and commercial execution for their Norfolk, VA-area operation. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a sales executive who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and has a proven track record of leading teams, growing revenue, and developing strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute the overall sales strategy for the market, aligning commercial initiatives with broader company objectives. Provide leadership, coaching, and development to a team of sales professionals and managers. Drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and customer retention. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts. Identify opportunities to expand existing business and develop new customer relationships. Establish sales goals, performance expectations, and accountability across the sales organization. Analyze sales performance, market trends, customer activity, and competitive conditions to identify opportunities and risks. Partner closely with operations, procurement, finance, and other functional leaders to ensure strong customer service and business performance. Develop and implement sales processes, programs, and initiatives designed to improve productivity and results. Recruit, retain, motivate, and develop high-performing sales talent. Serve as a senior leader within the organization and contribute to broader business strategy and operational planning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience. Demonstrated success leading and developing sales teams in a complex, multi-customer environment. Strong background in foodservice distribution, wholesale distribution, consumer products, or a related industry preferred. Proven ability to drive revenue growth while maintaining strong customer relationships and profitability. Experience managing sales managers and/or a large sales organization. Strong understanding of sales strategy, account management, pricing, and business development. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Highly analytical and comfortable using data and performance metrics to drive decisions.
