Compensation: $47.85 - $71.72 per hour

Position Overview

Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Float Pool at our New Brunswick campus. This facility serves as the primary teaching hospital within our health system and is recognized as one of only three Level 1 trauma centers in the state. Renowned for its exceptional clinical quality, we are dedicated to providing outstanding patient care. Our team is focused on delivering safe, high-quality services to all individuals. Nurses in our float pool play a crucial role, delivering exceptional care across diverse patient populations, including those in trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. These professionals exhibit nursing expertise, adaptability, resilience, effective communication, and strong teamwork skills. We are expanding our float pool team to ensure continued access to expert nursing care across our units.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Critical Care RN
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in computer skills
• Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Critical Care RN
  • CCRN certification

Certifications and Licenses

• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification

Scheduling Requirements

Night shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with a rotation that includes Monday to Friday, as well as some weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care within the healthcare system, adhering to the scope of practice outlined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while upholding ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring safety in practice and integrating evidence-based principles.
• Identifying and reporting safety concerns, including hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Understanding the patient population served.
• Supervising and directing task delegation among team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
• Utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized care plans that address specific patient needs.
