The PositionThis leadership role will support at site processes and safety program to ensure alignment with required codes, regulations and internal requirements. Accountable for attaining and sustaining a safe, secure and environmentally sound working environment for all employees, contingent workers and contractors throughout the site. Manage and develop efficient, reliable Environmental, Health, Safety processes that meet customer & regulatory requirements in a cost-effective manner in accordance with Novo Nordisk Way. Assist with Risk Management and continuously improve EHS processes with a Zero Harm goal.RelationshipsReports to Senior Director or Director.Essential FunctionsManage, motivate and develop the EHS team to support the site in all areas as related to each team members expertise and drive accountability and results according to NNWay support expansion projects in global and local initiatives, including writing/developing programs and training; where applicableCollaborate and maintain cross-functional relationships/responsibilities with Global Security, Global EHS, local authorities and the NNPILP sites, where applicableResponsible for the site Life Safety Systems and ISO14001 Environmental Management system; where applicableLead the role development and selection of core members to build the site EHS team and HSREnsure compliance to all OSHA regulations and all Federal, State and local safety standardsResponsible for the site ISO18001 OHSA Management System, OSHA 300 log and EHS PortalResponsible for ISO 45001 program for Occupational Health & SafetyLead development of site environmental & safety strategiesMonitor & report site performance within environment, health, & safety for the siteResponsible for site environmental permits (air, wastewater, stormwater, etc.)Advise, assist, analyse and audit processes/practices to mitigate EHS hazards to include documenting findings and corrective actions in site Action Item registryResponsible for site emergency response including equipment inspections & site drill coordinationEstablish & maintain waste management programs & ensure site compliance with the Resource Conservation & Recovery Act requirementsDrive sustainability & Circular for Zero initiatives through global & local collaborationResponsible for Industrial Hygiene, Construction Safety programs and Emergency Response Team for the organizationManage external vendorsResponsible to monitor & maintain safety systemsCollaborate with internal & external resources to improve ergonomic programs, ie: WorkWise, Ergo masterplan, etc.Responsible for site GLP-1 security for all waste streams (including those for API)Continues process improvement using cLEAN toolsResponsible for adherence to milestones, project portfolio, budget and auditsFollow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of dutiesOther accountabilities, as assignedPhysical RequirementsMay move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May required corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require colour vision based on role. May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections.Development Of PeopleSupervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.
