Administrative Specialist II

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Greater Greenville Mental Health Center, 20 Powderhorn Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681.

In this position, you will independently perform a variety of secretarial or administrative duties involved in the operation of the Simpsonville Clinic. This position requires the ability to plan, organize, develop and implement procedures to maintain daily schedules.

Responsibilities for the Administrative Specialist II:
  • Responsible for scheduling and rescheduling appointments, signing clients in and out and assisting with front desk coverage when necessary.
  • Responsible for obtaining and updating client files regarding demographic, financial, and guarantor information. Return phone calls, voicemails and emails in timely manner.
  • Responsible for other coverage when needed.
  • Perform cashier duties and collection of fees paid. Train all new personnel for the front desk area.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma or GED. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma. Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and one year of clerical experience, or an associate degree in secretarial science or a related field, or 2 years of clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

  • Have general knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Have the ability to deal effectively with the public in disseminating and obtaining information.
  • Have considerable knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, language usage and clerical formats.
