Registered Nurse Interventional Radiology

Job Summary The Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care in a fast-paced acute care environment, focusing on procedures such as CT guided biopsies, fistulograms, GJ-tube placements, angiograms, and other interventional radiology services. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. This role requires at least one year of nursing experience, preferably with 3-5 years in ICU, and strong critical care skills. Responsibilities Provide skilled nursing care during interventional radiology procedures including biopsies, angiograms, and tube placements. Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs before, during, and after procedures. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Collaborate with physicians, radiology staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care. Manage patient care documentation accurately using EPIC electronic charting system. Respond to patient emergencies and provide critical care as needed. Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in call rotations and weekend coverage as required. Required Skills & Certifications Active Registered Nurse license (pending license acceptable with quick start). BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification. Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; 3-5 years ICU experience preferred. Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning. Experience with EPIC electronic medical records preferred. Preferred Skills & Certifications Experience in interventional radiology or critical care nursing. Familiarity with procedures such as CT guided biopsies, fistulograms, angiograms, and nuclear medicine stress tests. Strong interdisciplinary team collaboration skills. Special Considerations Weekend coverage varies; may require working every 3-4 weekends. Call schedule includes one weeknight call every other week from 1700 to 0700 and one weekend call shift every 4-6 weeks. Night shift staff coverage affects call responsibilities. No return-to-office restrictions preferred under 7 days. Travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are ineligible for travel contracts. Scheduling Four 10-hour day shifts per week. Call duty includes night and occasional weekend shifts as outlined. Assignment duration is 13 weeks with a start date as soon as possible. #J-18808-Ljbffr
