Career Opportunities: Manager, Federal Affairs (1572) The Manager of Federal Affairs will serve as a key interface between Holtec International and the U.S. Government, as well as foreign governments and international stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Director of Government Affairs and Communications and works closely with business executives across all segments of the Company, including domestic, international, and government services. Based in Washington, D.C., this role supports Holtec’s strategic engagement with federal agencies, foreign embassies, and industry organizations to advance the company’s business objectives in the energy sector, including both nuclear and non-nuclear initiatives. Primary Responsibilities: Facilitate information exchange and engagement with U.S. Government agencies, including the Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD), Department of State, Department of Commerce, and other relevant departments, as required. Serve as a point of contact for foreign embassies and international delegations in Washington, D.C., supporting relationship development aligned with Holtec’s global business objectives. Represent Holtec at trade association meetings, nuclear and energy-related events, and engagements with industry groups and third-party stakeholders. Support the development and execution of corporate government relations strategies that advance policies, programs, and funding opportunities in support of Holtec’s business areas in the U.S. and international markets. Monitor and report on legislative and policy developments, circulate relevant updates internally, and coordinate with company stakeholders to assess business implications and inform senior management. Support applications and ongoing engagement with the U.S. Department of Commerce Advocacy Center and relevant financing entities; coordinate with supporting agencies to ensure effective interagency alignment with Holtec’s business objectives. Coordinate outreach, engagement, and communications — with business unit leaders and strategic partners to support specific projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall GA strategy. Work with internal leadership to define priorities, allocate resources, and execute government affairs initiatives in alignment with corporate objectives. Manage relationships with external government relations consultants and support compliance with applicable disclosure requirements. Coordinate and host visits from foreign government officials in collaboration with U.S. Government agencies and industry partners. Support export-related applications and processes in accordance with U.S. export control regulations. Assist in the administration of Holtec’s Political Action Committee (PAC), including compliance with applicable regulations. Requirements: Experience in the energy sector (primary) and familiarity with defense-related matters (secondary), along with strong communication skills and the ability to navigate government processes in support of commercial initiatives, particularly in nuclear energy and related technologies. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in government relations, public policy, international affairs, or a related field within the energy or power generation sector, or equivalent government experience. Ability to register as a lobbyist, if required. Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities. Demonstrated resourcefulness, flexibility, integrity, and sound judgment. Proven ability to collaborate across teams and manage external consultants. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of Lobbying Disclosure Act requirements, FEC regulations, and PAC activities. Ability to support day-to-day operations of the company’s federal government affairs function. Preferred Qualifications Experience engaging with foreign governments, embassies, or international organizations. Familiarity with U.S. export control regulations and international project support mechanisms. Established network within Washington, D.C.’s policy, trade, or energy communities.
