Location : 2350 Ave G, White City, Oregon Employment Type : Full-time, in-person Title : Sales Account Manager Reports To : Chief of Operations Salary About Us Oregon Biochar Solutions is a growing, hands‑on team operating at the intersection of manufacturing and sustainability. Our work includes producing and selling biochar, an environmental product with agricultural and industrial uses, as well as generating carbon credits (specifically, carbon removals). Our parent company, Biomass One, is a renewable energy power plant that produces biochar as a by‑product of its electricity production. We are seeking a candidate who thrives in a startup environment and is looking to be a leader in a new, fast‑paced industry. Position Description The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships while expanding the market presence of the company's biochar products. This role combines strategic account management, technical product knowledge, and customer service to support customers across agricultural, horticultural, environmental, industrial, and specialty markets. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated sales professional with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to understand customer needs, strong organizational skills, and a team player. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, and pricing recommendations. Negotiate deals and close sales while maintaining company profitability goals. Follow proper procedures when adding new customers to systems Coordinate Freight for customers when necessary Work with offsite suppliers to ensure inventory availability and consistent product quality Account Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts. Build long‑term relationships by understanding customer operations and identifying opportunities for continued growth. Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively resolve issues. Coordinate with production, logistics, and accounts receivable and payable teams to ensure timely delivery and exceptional customer experience. Maintain regular communication with customers regarding inventory availability, product performance, and new product offerings. Technical Product Support Develop a thorough understanding of biochar products, production methods, specifications, and applications. Assist customers in selecting appropriate products and volume needed for their specific applications. Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and emerging market opportunities. Market Development Identify new market segments and strategic partnerships. Attend industry conferences, trade shows, field days, and networking events. Gather competitive intelligence and customer feedback to support product development and marketing initiatives. Collaborate with marketing on promotional campaigns, educational materials, and lead generation activities. CRM & Reporting Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities within the CRM system. Track sales forecasts, opportunities, and performance metrics. Prepare regular sales reports and market updates for management. Monitor key account performance and recommend growth strategies. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of successful B2B sales or account management experience. Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoho CRM software. Basic math skills, ability to calculate volume Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required. Preferred Experience in agriculture, horticulture, soil amendments, fertilizers, environmental restoration, or natural sciences. Knowledge of biochar, compost, soil science, sustainable agriculture, or carbon markets. Experience selling technical or industrial products.
