Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Behavioral Health & Addiction Medicine

A leading behavioral health provider is seeking a licensed and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to adults experiencing addiction and mental health challenges in an outpatient clinical setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical exams on new admissions and follow-up evaluations as needed
• Collaborate with psychiatric providers and behavioral health teams to coordinate care plans and medications
• Document all findings, treatments, and progress using the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Ensure adherence to all internal policies, state and federal laws, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission)
• Provide safe, independent clinical care under the consultation of a collaborating physician
• Evaluate patient needs, prescribe medications, and support primary care needs

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
• Active licensure to practice in the state (must be unrestricted)
• DEA license and CSR (or willingness to obtain)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred (behavioral health experience ideal) willing to train new grads
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer literacy
• Commitment to ethical practice, teamwork, and patient-centered care
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
