Medical Billing Specialist

Now hiring for an Indianapolis Medical Billing Specialist Responsibilities Work accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding accounts with patients and insurance companies. Determine accounts that should be sent to collections and maintain accounts receivable within established guidelines. Monitor claims processing and payment activity and address claim rejections when needed. Conduct insurance follow-up calls and prepare appeals when necessary. Prepare requested documentation for third-party payors and maintain updated payor information and fee schedules. Serve as a liaison with insurance companies regarding billing questions and requirements. Receive and respond to billing-related calls from insurance companies and patients. Assist with entering insurance and patient payments and reviewing patient accounts. Qualifications Medical billing experience in a healthcare setting, required. Knowledge of medical billing codes, required. Experience working in a medical billing system such as SIS, Advantix, or another comparable system.
