Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Summary We are seeking a Part‑Time Accounts Payable Clerk for a temp-to-hire opportunity supporting accounting operations in the construction industry. Key Responsibilities Receive, review, and process invoices submitted via email, ensuring accuracy and readiness for payment. Reconcile vendor and subcontractor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Communicate with subcontractors regarding invoices, documentation, insurance records, preliminary notices, and lien releases. Manage accounts payable email correspondence, follow‑up tasks, and related documentation. Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized accounting records. Provide additional administrative and accounting support as needed in a small office environment. Compensation and Benefits Pay: $26 to $28 per hour, depending on experience. Job Type: Temp-to-hire. Schedule: Part Time approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility to consider full‑time hours for the right candidate. Required Qualifications and Skills Process accounts payable invoices and prepare documentation for payment. Reconcile vendor and subcontractor statements and research discrepancies. Manage subcontractor communication related to invoices, insurance records, preliminary notices, and lien releases. Maintain accurate accounting records and support general office accounting needs. Previous accounts payable experience required. 2+ years of related accounting or accounts payable experience preferred. Experience processing invoices and reconciling statements. Strong data entry skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Highly organized with the ability to manage email correspondence, follow‑ups, and documentation. Dependable with a stable work history. Comfortable working independently in a small office environment. Positive, outgoing attitude with a professional work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Construction industry experience, a plus. Familiarity with preliminary notices and lien releases is a plus. Experience communicating with vendors, subcontractors, or trade partners is helpful.
