Radiology Medical Imaging Technologist I

Pay Range: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Schedule: Weekends and on-call coverage may be required

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Radiology Medical Imaging Technologist I to perform diagnostic medical imaging examinations for patients of all ages.

The technologist will apply the principles, techniques, and best practices of the appropriate imaging modality to produce accurate and reliable diagnostic results. This position also provides daily leadership and coordination of patient and department workflow while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, quality, and exceptional service.

Opportunities may be available across a variety of imaging modalities, including Radiologic Technology, Mammography, CT, and MRI.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform a variety of diagnostic medical imaging examinations for patients of all ages.

Apply appropriate imaging principles, techniques, protocols, and procedures based on the patient's examination and clinical needs.

Produce high-quality, reliable diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety.

Properly position and prepare patients for imaging procedures.

Explain procedures clearly and professionally to patients and address questions or concerns.

Provide age-appropriate care and communication to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Operate imaging equipment and related technology safely and effectively.

Evaluate images for technical quality and completeness.

Follow established radiation safety and patient protection procedures.

Maintain accurate patient and examination documentation.

Provide daily leadership and assist with patient and department workflow.

Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, technologists, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policies.

Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives.

Maintain current knowledge of imaging technology, procedures, and industry standards.

Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Available Imaging Modalities

Candidates may be considered for positions involving one or more of the following:

Radiologic Technology

Mammography

Computed Tomography (CT)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program - Required.

Current ARRT certification in the applicable imaging modality - Required.

Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification - Required.

Ability to meet applicable state and modality-specific licensing requirements.

Strong patient-care and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with patients of varying ages and medical conditions.

Ability to operate applicable imaging and office equipment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.

Oregon Licensure

Candidates should have one of the following:

Current Oregon license appropriate to the applicable imaging modality; or

Recent graduation from an approved program with a valid temporary Oregon permit obtained prior to taking the ARRT registry.

Required registry and licensure must be obtained within the applicable regulatory timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor's degree - Preferred.

Three years of previous hospital experience - Highly Preferred.

Experience working with the applicable imaging modality.

Image Wisely pledge certificate - Preferred.

Image Gently pledge certificate - Preferred.

New graduates and candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered.

Certifications

BLS - American Heart Association - Required

ARRT certification in the applicable modality - Required

Image Wisely certification/pledge - Preferred

Image Gently certification/pledge - Preferred

Compensation

$30.00-$45.00 per hour

Compensation is based on years of relevant experience and applicable qualifications. This is a structured pay scale, and the final rate will be determined according to applicable experience and compensation guidelines.
