What You'll Do The Privacy Program Manager will support the development and implementation of Tufts University's growing privacy program, working closely with the Privacy Officer & Director of IT Security Compliance. This role will help operationalize and manage processes for data subject requests, international privacy reviews, and other privacy initiatives by engaging stakeholders, refining workflows, and driving continuous process improvement. The Program Manager will also support privacy policy development and facilitate a network of privacy liaisons across the university. The successful candidate is organized, detail-oriented, early-career privacy professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and can independently manage projects from concept through execution. This is a two-year limited-term appointment with possibility of extension. Privacy Program Operations Manage the intake, triage, and tracking of data subject requests, ensuring requests are routed appropriately and processed in accordance with established procedures. Work closely with Privacy Officer to operationalize privacy reviews for international research and business activities by managing intake processes, reviews, and tracking outcomes. Collaborate with the Privacy Officer to evaluate and refine privacy-related intake forms, workflows, and business processes based on stakeholder feedback and operational experience. Privacy Development and Process Improvement Partner with stakeholders across the university to develop, document, test, and continuously improve workflows for fulfilling data subject requests. Contribute to the development, review, revision, and communication of university privacy policies, standards, and related guidance materials. Develop and maintain documentation, metrics, and reports related to privacy program activities, projects, and operational processes. Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement Engage and consult with a university-wide network of privacy liaisons by organizing meetings, preparing agendas, maintaining meeting minutes, tracking action items, and facilitating ongoing communications. Build and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, researchers, and administrative partners to advance privacy program objectives across the university. Independently manage assigned projects and responsibilities, exercising sound judgment to identify issues, elevate concerns when appropriate, and drive tasks through to completion. Successful TTS staff are known for effectively applied expertise, continuous learning, thoughtful attention to detail, timely and appropriately calibrated follow-up, proactive and constructive problem solving, openness to new approaches, and for building effective partnerships and trust within TTS, across the university, and (where relevant) with external partners. All TTS staff are expected to follow departmental shared administrative practices, including effective planning and communication around time off, attending required TTS and university trainings, and developing professional goals as part of the PDP planning process. TTS staff are also responsible for working in ways that align with the TTS vision statement and for being aware of and following individual group and department-wide shared practices. What We're Looking For Basic Requirements: Knowledge and experience typically acquired by: Bachelor's Degree Skills and experience typically required through a Bachelor's degree in related field. 3-5 years years of professional experience in privacy, compliance, information security, risk management, project coordination, higher education administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of an organization. Experience developing, documenting, coordinating, or improving business processes, workflows, or operational activities. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assignments through completion with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or other privacy-related certification Pay Range Minimum $108,200.00, Midpoint $135,300.00, Maximum $162,400.00 Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range. #J-18808-Ljbffr Tufts University
