IT Manager

Search Solution Group is seeking an IT Manager on behalf of our client, a family-owned, full-service beverage distributor. The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining, implementing, and supporting the company’s technology infrastructure, including computer systems, communication systems, hardware, software, and business applications. This role plays a critical part in ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations across the organization while supporting office, warehouse, and field sales teams. The IT Manager will also help drive future technology initiatives focused on cybersecurity, cloud-based solutions, automation, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain company IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations, warehouse technology systems, and related equipment. Provide Tier 1–2 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and user issues across office, warehouse, and field sales operations. Oversee administration and support of key business systems, including ERP/distribution management software, route accounting platforms, and Microsoft 365. Coordinate with third-party vendors, managed service providers, and technology partners for specialized support and procurement. Maintain cybersecurity practices, including patch management, endpoint protection, user access controls, and data backup/recovery processes. Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and acceptable use guidelines. Support disaster recovery planning and compliance initiatives to protect company systems and data. Manage hardware and software inventory while overseeing equipment procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management. Support onboarding and offboarding processes by provisioning and decommissioning user accounts, devices, and access permissions. Identify opportunities to leverage technology solutions that improve efficiency across distribution, logistics, and sales operations. Document systems, processes, and incidents to maintain a reliable internal knowledge base. Stay current with evolving technologies and recommend improvements to enhance security, productivity, and business performance. Requirements include: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and professional experience will be considered. Experience: Proven experience managing and supporting IT infrastructure in a business environment. Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, networks, and user systems. Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration, and network infrastructure. Experience supporting ERP/distribution management systems or business applications preferred. Experience managing vendors, technology partners, and IT projects preferred. Skills: Strong mechanical, technical support, and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking fundamentals, and Microsoft 365 administration. Experience supporting network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networking. Knowledge of workstation operating systems, printers, portable printers, and audio/video equipment. Experience setting up and troubleshooting Apple products and devices. Strong cybersecurity knowledge, including endpoint protection, access controls, and data backup/recovery. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Certifications: CompTIA Network+ preferred. CompTIA Security+ preferred. Cisco certifications preferred. Microsoft Network, Microsoft 365, or Azure certifications preferred. Knowledge: Knowledge of IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity practices, and technology operations. Understanding of network administration, hardware/software systems, and cloud-based solutions. Familiarity with IT policies, procedures, disaster recovery planning, and compliance requirements. Knowledge of automation and technology solutions that improve business efficiency. Understanding of user account management, device provisioning, and system documentation best practices. Strong leadership and ownership of IT operations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in a fast‑paced environment. Detail‑oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills. Proactive approach to identifying and resolving technology challenges. Commitment to cybersecurity, data protection, and operational reliability. Ability to build strong relationships with employees, vendors, and business partners.
