HRIS Timekeeping Specialist & Payroll Liaison

Summary This role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for Ryder’s timekeeping system(s). As a central point of contact for employees submitting time and supervisors approving it, this position bridges the gap between the system, its users and key departments involved, including Human Resources and Payroll. This position will ensure seamless coordination across stakeholders, maintaining system integrity, and supporting timely and accurate payroll processing. This includes troubleshooting issues, guiding users, collaborating on enhancements, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and various regulations. Essential Functions Provide proactive support to employees and managers navigating the timekeeping system(s), including system navigation, analysis involving payroll disputes, inquiries regarding time‑off balances, holiday and proxy guidance, reviews of potential Workday integration disruptions, issue resolution, and customer support on absence management tracking. Conduct regular audits of timekeeping system(s) to ensure employee usage aligns with established policies and regulatory requirements, including access and role validation, compliance checks, ensuring timekeeping practices comply with collective bargaining agreements, and monitoring of general system performance. Maintain an active and collaborative relationship with HR and Payroll stakeholders to ensure timely awareness of Ryder processes, payroll updates, and disputes that may impact the timekeeping system(s). Continuously evaluate, update, and distribute the timekeeping system(s) training materials to ensure alignment with evolving operational needs, system enhancements, and compliance requirements. Ensure that new users, as well as existing employees transitioning into new roles, are granted timely access to the system(s) and appropriate training. Complete proxy set‑ups within the timekeeping system(s) to ensure service within the management function is not disrupted during absences. Additional Responsibilities Provide user support: address and resolve user inquiries related to system navigation and integrations. Ensure timely follow‑up: maintain consistent and proactive communication with users to ensure issues are resolved promptly and correctly. Escalate complex issues: identify and elevate issues beyond the scope of resolution to the appropriate stakeholder(s) or vendors for timely resolution. Diagnostic research: collect comprehensive information pertaining to the issue before escalation to facilitate an efficient resolution. Monitor system(s): run and analyze periodic reports to identify discrepancies within the system(s) such as missing data, data integrity, or other abnormalities. Maintain training materials: ensure all training materials are correct and standardized, reflecting both system updates and regulatory requirements. Build knowledge resources: develop and maintain a centralized knowledge repository to support the use of Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization. Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, General Business, Computer Systems, or similar discipline.

1. year or more of experience with timekeeping systems (preferred).
2. to 3 years of hands‑on experience in Human Resources practices and policies.

Understanding of the role of Human Resources and day‑to‑day influence on business and employees (advanced). Experience in training and influencing day‑to‑day users of the system (advanced). Knowledge and appreciation for the inter‑relationship between the timekeeping system(s) and Payroll Services (intermediate). General knowledge of compliance rules and regulations (Ryder, federal, state, local) as they pertain to timekeeping for U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada (intermediate). Knowledge of Workday and ServiceNow (intermediate, preferred). Proven knowledge of MS Office Suite with emphasis on Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and Access (advanced). Compensation Information The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, work location, market data/ranges, internal equity, and internal salary ranges. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below.
