Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, RayzeBio

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Vice President and Assistant General Counsel to lead the legal function at RayzeBio, a San Diego-based radiopharmaceutical subsidiary. The role involves advising leadership on compliance and risk, managing contracts across clinical, regulatory, and commercial domains, and collaborating with internal teams and the BMS Law Department.
Responsibilities
- Lead all legal functions and advise President and leadership on key business risks
- Direct legal support for supply chain, clinical trials, regulatory compliance, and commercialization
- Negotiate, draft, and review contracts including clinical trial, licensing, and partnership agreements
- Build collaborative relationships with functional leaders and BMS Law Department
- Support business development objectives and coordinate on IP, data privacy, and GXP compliance
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from U.S. accredited law school
- 15+ years post-J.D. experience in life sciences or top-tier law firm practice
- Experience negotiating complex business development, partnership, and licensing agreements
- Senior management team experience advising boards on legal and compliance matters
- Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a startup biotech environment
- Strategic thinking, leadership capability, and high business ethics
Compensation: $319,090 - $386,662 base
