Job Title: Fabrication Machine Operator

Location: York, PA

Shift: 2nd Shift 2p-10p (Requires 1-2 weeks of training on first shift)

Pay: $24-$30/hour

Job Description

The Fabrication Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC Controlled Saws, Burn Tables, Coping Machines, Drill Lines, and other structural steel and plate fabrication machines to process plate and structural steel materials.

Responsibilities

• Select correct machine settings for optimal burning, drilling, and processing operations.
• Measure materials to ensure conformance with design specifications.
• Select appropriate material type, stock size, and dimensions as required.
• Operate overhead crane to place steel onto and off of the machinery safely.
• Transfer data onto materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Manage an accurate record of daily operations and materials usage.

Essential Skills

• Experience in Fabrication Machine Operating and Burn Table operations.
• Proficient in measuring accurately to 1/16".
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CNC machine operation experience preferred.
• Experience in steel fabrication shops.
• Comfortable working in a loud and heavy industrial environment.
• Own steel toe boots, safety glasses, and personal tools.

Work Environment

The role is primarily on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2 pm to 10 pm, with potential overtime until midnight and additional hours on Saturdays when busy. Initial training is on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 5 am to 2:30 pm with extended hours to 3:30 pm, and additional hours on Saturdays. The work environment is a steel fabrication shop, characterized by a loud and heavy industrial setting, prioritizing safety. Equipment ranges from new to old, with overhead cranes throughout the structure. Operators will have their own welding station.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
