Vanderbloemen serves churches, schools, nonprofits, and Christian businesses through innovative staffing, compensation, succession, and consulting solutions. Founded in 2010 by William and Adrienne Vanderbloemen, the company was started out of a deep passion for local churches that would have pastoral vacancies for years, thus minimizing their effectiveness in their communities. After pastoring for 15 years and then working as a corporate Executive Search Consultant, William believed there was a better way to help churches move through this transition. Vanderbloemen now has over 30 employees working for the firm. We have successfully completed more than 3,000 searches in 49 of the 50 states in the U.S. and eight countries around the world. While Vanderbloemen can staff any position at any size organization, the bulk of our work is made up of searches for senior-level staff. Searches involving Senior Pastor succession are an area of particular expertise. In addition to search work, the firm also provides services in staff consulting, succession planning, diversity consulting, and compensation analysis. About the Recruiting Manager The Recruiting Manager at Vanderbloemen Search Group is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing, improving, and optimizing our executive search recruitment efforts. This position leads, mentors, and develops our team of Executive Search Recruiters and Senior Executive Search Recruiters, ensuring they are equipped to identify and attract top-tier talent. In addition to effective team management, this role is responsible for creating metrics to measure performance and then holds team members accountable for hitting numerical goals. Metrics should include the number of searches closed per month and per year, the number of candidates sourced, the number of phone screens completed, and feedback from the consulting team. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as you will represent the Recruiting Team in company-wide meetings and contribute to our collaborative environment. The Recruiting Manager’s responsibilities include: One focus of the Recruiting Manager is the oversight, supervision, and empowerment of the Recruiting Team in their pursuit of highly sought-after candidates for Vanderbloemen clients. Strategic Leadership & Team Development: Improve and craft the recruiting process to help find better candidates more quickly. Find ways to optimize recruiters’ time and make systems and processes more efficient. Act as a team player and builder, prioritizing the collective success of the Recruiting Team and the entire organization, inspiring others towards excellence. Plan and lead Recruiting team meetings. Determine optimal cadence and content. Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with Senior Executive Search Recruiters, providing guidance, feedback, and support for their professional development. Maintain thorough written records of discussions and search statuses. Actively develop Recruiters through mentorship and coaching on: Advanced candidate recruiting techniques Thoughtful and prompt email communication Seamless candidate coordination Pulse check on skills and engagement of all recruiters Assist in leading other company meetings as appropriate. Create and administer Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) to underperforming employees if necessary. Develop and implement new or underutilized research techniques to enhance candidate discovery and recruitment. Search Management & Optimization: Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all assigned searches and their progress through the recruitment lifecycle. Creation of metrics to track success and growth on the Recruiting Team. This includes building dashboards to measure success. Hold the team accountable for achieving set numerical goals. Proactively engage with challenging searches to assist the Recruiting Team, identifying potential candidates and overcoming obstacles. Act as recruiter on a handful of searches to ensure understanding of the industry, process, pain points, and company-wide relationship building. Demonstrate exceptional discernment in identifying the optimal “fit” for candidates within Vanderbloemen’s active client base. Assign searches to the Recruiting Team, ensuring balanced workloads and strategic alignment. Identify, research, and procure tools that enhance the Recruiting Team’s executive search capabilities. Operational Excellence & Collaboration: Determine which software programs and tools will best aid the Recruiting Team. Oversee and manage essential recruiter tools, including Loxo and LinkedIn Recruiter, ensuring optimal utilization. Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training programs for new Executive Search Recruiters. Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships within the Recruiting Team, the Consultant department, and across the broader Vanderbloemen organization. Oversee and maintain the recruiting budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility. Responsible for the team credit card, expenses, and expense report. Other duties as assigned to support the strategic objectives of the Recruiting Team and the firm. Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments, particularly within the Recruiting and Consultant teams, fostering an environment of mutual respect and cooperation. Contribute to a vibrant culture of trust, growth, and operational excellence within the Recruiting Team and the broader organization. Provide steady, supportive leadership by advocating for team needs, recognizing contributions, and creating opportunities for professional growth and development. Foster collaboration, mutual respect, and open communication , ensuring all team members feel valued, heard, and empowered. Search Process & Performance Consistently work in a manner that reflects Vanderbloemen’s core values , setting a high standard for integrity and professionalism. Assist Executive Search Recruiters with expert guidance on search management and their ongoing professional development, leading to improved team performance. Enhance Vanderbloemen’s executive search process through proactive collaboration with leadership, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions. What you bring Education A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, and Seminary training is a plus but not required. Experience/Skills A Recruiting Manager must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be a systematic worker. Successful candidates will have experience working or volunteering in a church or parachurch organization. Proven experience in creative thinking, problem-solving, and organizational development are important for one’s success in this role.
