This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive educational environment near Columbia, SC. You'll work with a small caseload of middle school students (ages 11-14), providing critical behavior support and serving as a dedicated case manager—all at a single school site.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Teacher Certification in Multicategorical/Emotional Disabilities (ED) required
• Experience or strong interest in serving students with behavioral and diverse learning needs
• Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs and behavior intervention plans
• Effective communication with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom community

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 5-10 students, supporting academic and behavioral growth
• Implement individualized behavior and learning strategies tailored to each student
• Monitor progress, collect data, and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers
• Facilitate IEP meetings, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families
• Promote a positive learning environment that encourages student success and engagement

Role Details:

• 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Start date: As soon as possible
• Contract runs through May 2027 (or with notice of end of contract)
• Serve at just one school—Muller Road Middle School
