Human Resources Director

The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the human resources function for a fast-paced industrial manufacturing organization. This role serves as a strategic business partner to executive leadership while also ensuring operational excellence across talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, compliance, training, and organizational development. The ideal candidate combines strong strategic leadership with hands‑on execution and has experience supporting manufacturing operations, multi‑site facilities, and hourly workforces. Key Responsibilities Strategic HR Leadership Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives. Drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives. Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on employee management, performance, and organizational issues. Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Lead recruitment efforts for salaried, technical, skilled trades, and hourly manufacturing positions. Develop strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent in competitive labor markets. Oversee onboarding programs to improve employee integration and retention. Employee Relations & Performance Management Manage employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation. Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and employment practices. Lead performance management processes and leadership development initiatives. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, EEO, and other applicable requirements. Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates. Support safety initiatives and partner closely with operations leadership on workplace safety and risk reduction. Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations Oversee compensation structures, salary administration, benefits programs, and annual review processes. Analyze market trends and recommend competitive compensation strategies. Lead HR reporting, metrics, and data‑driven decision‑making initiatives. Manage HRIS systems and ensure accurate employee data management. Training & Organizational Development Develop and implement training programs for leadership, compliance, safety, and employee development. Support change management initiatives and organizational growth efforts. Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement culture throughout the organization. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within industrial manufacturing, distribution, or operations environments. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Experience supporting hourly production environments and multi‑shift operations preferred. Demonstrated leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills. Experience with HRIS systems and HR analytics. PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP certification preferred.
