Location Address: 1202 Highway 60 Socorro, NM 87801-3914 Compensation Pay Range: Minimum Offer $94,057.60 Maximum Offer $143,707.20 Summary Assists the Department Director in planning, directing and coordinating the operational, financial and personnel activities of the designated departments. Provides clinical and operational leadership for areas assigned. Responsibilities Clinical Leadership: Provide leadership and supervision for all family birthing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support personnel; ensure high-quality, evidence-based care across labor & delivery, postpartum, and newborn services; promote patient safety and oversee clinical standards, policies, and procedures; serve as a clinical resource for complex obstetric and neonatal cases. Operations Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the Family Birthing Unit, including staffing, scheduling, and patient flow; monitor unit productivity, census, and resource allocation; collaborate with physicians, midwives, and ancillary departments to ensure coordinated care; address operational challenges common to rural healthcare environments (e.g., limited resources, transfers). Staff Development & Engagement: Recruit, train, and retain qualified nursing staff; conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed; promote continuing education, certifications (NRP, ACLS, etc.), and professional growth; foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and compassionate care. Qualifications Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required; BLS required. BSN required; Degree from accredited academic nursing program.
